SundownIsland  > Workdays > Devon Energy Workday, October 2009
Devon Energy Company volunteers hold an annual workday on Sundown Island. This effort is organized by Lynn Travis and Barbara Van Horn. Warden Chester Smith would like to thank all of the volunteers for their contributions to making it a successful rookery for colonial waterbirds.

SundownIsland > Devon Energy donated a new gas-powered weed-wacker for triming around the trees and the shed. Jennifer White (of the famous brownies) was the first to put it into action.

SundownIsland > The funny looking pvc pipe tepee was placed to mark the Ebony tree plot.  The trees are so small when they are planted that it is easy to mistake them for weeds. From left to right volunteers are getting down to clearing out the area and preparing it for new trees: Jennifer White, Priscilla Ochoa, Dale Blakeman, Ethan Perry and his friend Jen and Lynn Travis.
