SundownIsland > Sign seen in first image; windmill to the right; most significant thing here is that there was a nice grassy slope in front of the windmill in September 2001.

SundownIsland > This is approximately the same location as image number 07, in front of the windmill, looking north. Notice how much less shoreline there is. This was taken in February 2003.

SundownIsland > This photo was also taken in February 2003; there was still a nice grassy slope, just not much beach.

SundownIsland > This was taken shortly after Hurricane Claudette, in July of 2003. This storm decimated the shoreline on the east side of the island and put the windmill at risk.

SundownIsland > During the Fall Workday, October 2003, volunteers try to salvage what they can of a tree plot that was planted on the east side of the island. Most of it was wiped out by Hurricane Claudette.
