These photos were taken on Sundown Island two weeks before the annual census.
 
SundownIsland > Lots of Royal Terns on the North end of the island. Notice the juvenile Brown Pelicans in the foreground, probably part of the first batch of nesters.

SundownIsland > Roseate Spoonbill, trying not to get knocked off the tower by the wind.

SundownIsland > Laughing Gulls can be pretty annoying, but they really have a striking appearance during breeding season.

SundownIsland > On of my favorite things is to watch pelicans fly. I never get tired of it.
SundownIsland > Mostly Royal Terns. I was fascinated by the Escher like pattern that they formed, all nestled together.

SundownIsland > Typical scene on Sundown.  If you'll notice there is a Great Blue Heron baby begging the spoonbils for food.
